piaco asked: Does Battalion interact with attackers entering the battlefield after the Declare Attackers Step? Say, would a Firemane Avenger trigger with attacking Soldiers put into play with Hero of Bladehold or Preeminent Captain?
No.
Battalion looks for the Battalion creature and two other creatures to be declared as attacking, i.e. you turn them sideways during the Declare Attackers step.
If they (or the other creatures) enter the battlefield attacking after attackers have been declared, it’s too late for them to trigger.
